PADANG - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo asked the West Sumatra (West Sumatra) regional government to continue to increase the availability of beds in hospitals for COVID-19 patients in this area.
"Increasing the availability of beds must be prepared to anticipate a spike in cases so that it is under control," said the National Police Chief, while visiting Padang City with TNI Commander Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto, quoted by Antara, Friday, August 13.
In addition, the National Police Chief emphasized for forkopimda to disseminate guidelines for self-isolation (isoman) to the public in order to reduce fatalities before receiving treatment at health facilities.
He still appealed to people who were exposed to COVID-19 to undergo treatment in an integrated isolation place (Isoter).
"It is better, because it is under the supervision of health workers," he said.
The National Police Chief said that the priority is isolation in isoters because they are under the supervision of health workers.
"Coordinate and plan for oxygen needs to maintain the availability of oxygen distribution at COVID-19 referral hospitals in all regions," he said
Meanwhile, related to the vaccination program, all elements in West Sumatra must work together and collaborate to pursue President Joko Widodo's target of successful vaccination of two million vaccines per day.
"To achieve the vaccination target of 2 million, forkopimda coordinates the implementation of vaccinations in the field which are carried out jointly by the TNI-Polri, the Health Service, puskesmas, and volunteers," said Listyo Sigit.
