Former Head Of The General Bureau Of The Ministry Of Social Affairs Demanded 7 Years In Prison

JAKARTA - The former Head of the General Bureau of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Adi Wahyono, was sentenced to 7 years in prison in a case of alleged corruption in the provision of social assistance (bansos). In addition, Adi Wahyono was also charged with a fine of IDR 350 million, subsidiary of 6 months in prison.

"The defendant Adi Wahyono has been sentenced to 7 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 350 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison," said the prosecutor in a trial at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, Friday, August 13.

In that charge, Adi Wahyono was declared legally and convincingly proven to have been involved in a criminal act of corruption. Thus, Adi violated Article 12 letter b or Article 11 in conjunction with Article 18 and Article 12 letter i of the RI Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

The demands given to Adi Wahyono were based on several considerations. For damning considerations, he is considered not to support the government's program to create a government that is free from collusion, corruption, and nepotism.

Moreover, the corruption he committed in the emergency conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While the consideration is mitigating, Adi Wahyono has given the truth and regrets his actions. In fact, his application as a justice collaborator was approved by the prosecutor.

"The defendant has never been convicted, the defendant admits frankly his actions, the defendant regrets his actions, the defendant gets the status of a witness to the perpetrator who cooperates as a justice collaborator," said the prosecutor.

The bribery in this case was carried out by Adi Wahyono as the Head of the General Bureau of the Ministry of Social Affairs as well as the PPK for the procurement of the COVID-19 basic food assistance for the period October-December 2020, and Matheus Joko Santoso as the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) for the procurement of the COVID-19 basic food assistance at the Directorate of Social Protection for Social Disaster Victims. As much as Rp32,482 billion, Rp14.7 billion, according to the KPK prosecutor, had been received by Juliari from Matheus Joko and Adi Wahyono through the intermediary of people close to Juliari, namely the technical team of the Minister of Social Affairs Kukuh Ary Wibowo, Juliari's aide named Eko Budi Santoso, and the personal secretary of Juliari Selvy Nurbaity.

Matheus Joko and Adi Wahyono also use the "fee" for Juliari's operational activities as Minister of Social Affairs and other operational activities at the Ministry of Social Affairs, such as purchasing mobile phones, swab test fees, payment for food and drink, purchase of Brompton bicycles, payment of honorarium for artist Cita Citata, payment for sacrificial animals. to private plane rentals.
