Central Bangka Says 5 People Died Due To COVID-19, Total Becomes 115 People

JAKARTA - Five COVID-19 patients in Central Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province were declared dead. Thus, the total number of patients who died in the area was 115 people.

While the total patients who recovered were recorded as 4,062 people from a total of 4,988 local residents who were confirmed positive for the new corona virus.

The Acting Head of the Bangka Tengah Zaitun Health Service stated that today there were 48 patients who had recovered. However, he said, on the same day there was also an addition of 19 confirmed positive COVID-19 patients.

"We are very focused on handling cases of the new corona virus by continuing to vaccinate, socialize health protocols and prepare all adequate medical equipment," he said in Koba, as reported by Antara, Friday, August 13. He also appealed to residents not to be complacent and to continue to be careful with the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Based on the data on the distribution of cases, he said, three sub-districts were declared vulnerable, namely Pangkalanbaru, Namang, Koba and Simpangkatis sub-districts with a higher case finding rate than three of the six sub-districts in the area.

The lowest spread of new coronavirus cases was recorded in Lubuk Besar District and Sungaiselan District.

The tabulated data also records that the age of residents vulnerable to being exposed to the new corona virus is 55 to 69 years.
