Papuan Prosecutor's Office Appoints Suspect For Corruption In Aviation Subsidy Grant Funds In Waropen
JAYAPURA - The Papua High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has named DM as a suspect in the corruption case of aviation subsidy grant funds in Waropen Regency.
"It's true that since Monday (9/8) investigators have named DM as a suspect in the alleged corruption of grant funds for aviation subsidies in Waropen," said Head of the Papua High Court Nikolaus Kondomo, quoted by Antara, Friday, August 13.
It was admitted that previously PT Papua Graha Persada, led by DM, had already returned state losses of Rp 9,660,000,000 and is currently being deposited in BNI Jayapura.
Even though state losses have been returned, that does not mean the case is terminated. Meanwhile, the suspect DM has not yet been arrested.
"Nine witnesses have been questioned, including from Airnaf Nabire, and there may be other suspects in the case," Kondomo said.
He explained that PT Papua Graha Persada was the recipient of the 2016-2017 grant from the Waropen Regional Government. The grant funds are for aviation subsidies used to transport residents of Waropen Regency to Nabire-Kirihi and Nabire-Walani.
"Residents were not transported and flown according to schedule, so it was found that there was a state loss of Rp. 14 billion from the total grant of Rp. 16 billion," said Kondomo.
