Governor Ridwan Kamil Brings Good News, West Java Passes The Peak Of The COVID-19 Emergency
JAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil brings good news, the bed occupancy rate for COVID-19 patient care or Bed Occupancy Ratio (BOR) for COVID-19 referral hospitals in the province has returned to steady.
Based on the data, said Kang Emil as Ridwan Kamil is familiarly called, on Friday, August 13, the occupancy of beds in West Java was at 34 percent.
"So our area has passed the peak of the emergency mountain (COVID-19) when our BOR was 91 percent (on June 28, 2021), now it has dropped to just a third, which is back to 34 percent," said Ridwan Kamil after attending the COVID-19 Vaccination Program. West Java Quick Response at GOR Saparua Bandung, reported by Antara.
Therefore, with this achievement, he said, it is time for West Java to intensify the COVID-19 vaccination, especially by the end of 2021, herd immunity can be achieved and people start living adaptable.
"COVID-19 will not disappear in our lives, that's my guess. But we are no longer worried about the scale of the pandemic, there are no more emergencies that make it difficult for us economically. What exists is that all businesses can open, schools can open, but still use it. masks, for 5 M. As long as 5 M are guarded," said the Governor who is familiarly called Kang Emil.
He said that the acceleration of the COVID-19 vaccination program in West Java was making positive progress and about three months ago the vaccination coverage was only 50,000 doses per day and now it has tripled to 150,000 per day.
He admitted, the very large population of West Java requires this area to continue to expand vaccination coverage. West Java must be able to reach 400,000 doses per day, so that the December 2021 herd immunity target can be achieved.
"We have conveyed the coverage of 400,000 doses per day to the central government, that is our condition that it can be completed in December. So we request that the supply of vaccines must be proportional to the population. So far, the number of vaccines given is indeed the most, but less proportional, it should be doubled. fold," he said.
Therefore, he said, to achieve the target of 400,000 doses per day, a vaccine supply of up to 15 million doses per month is needed with two vaccination strategies, namely optimizing government infrastructure, including clinics and hospitals as well as the organizers of vaccination centers.
"This second strategy is shown through the collaboration of many parties. At Gelora Saparua, one of them is JQR, BB1% MC, Stikes. Then of course we were entrusted by the West Java Vaccination Committee, the Head of Education and Culture who I assigned and all the sponsors who turned out to be a lot. Why ? Because it's an emergency we have come down the mountain, "he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the West Java COVID-19 Vaccination Acceleration Division, Dedi Supandi, confirmed that his party would continue to intensify vaccinations by optimizing all available resources.
"So there is a substitution of planning, vaccine posts and mobilization, this is in every region. Then the vaccine working group, which continues to be mobile in the regions," said Dedi Supandi.
Regarding the momentum of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia in August 2021, his party will also take advantage of the momentum in an effort to accelerate vaccination, including vaccinations that are held simultaneously in 27 districts/cities in West Java.
"Later on August 28, there will be simultaneous vaccinations in 27 regions with the tagline Merdeka COVID-19. We and the West Java Governor will witness virtually. This activity is also to achieve a simulation of 400,000 doses per day," he said.
