Founders Of Indosurya Savings And Loans Cooperatives Ensure To Help Settlement Solutions

JAKARTA - The former management and founder of the Indosurya Cipta Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP), Henry Surya, confirmed that he would help settle the obligations of the Indosurya Cipta KSP to cooperative members or customers. So far, he and the management of the Indosurya KSP are preparing a settlement scheme proposal so that the funds of the members or prospective members of the Indosurya Cipta KSP can be returned or settled.

Later, the proposed settlement scheme that is being prepared will be conveyed to the board at the Creditors Meeting for Postponement of Debt Payment Obligations (PKPU).

"If this settlement scheme proposal is a way out to prove our seriousness to restore the rights of the members and prospective members of the KSP Indosurya," Henry Surya said in a press conference in Jakarta, Friday 19 June.

He stated that he would not run away from responsibility. Perilhal his figure that never appeared to the public to clarify, according to him, was more because his party and KSP Indosurya were evaluating, what made KSP Indosurya unable to carry out its obligations as before.

"So far we have been given the impression of avoiding and not being responsible for the events that occurred. In fact, we took a passive stance because we were comprehensively studying and evaluating the problems that occurred," he said.

Accompanied by his team of attorneys, Juniver Girsang and Hendra Wijaya, as well as the management of KSP Indosurya, Henry said he felt wronged by all the accusations directed at him and KSP Indosurya.

"The current news on KSP Indosurya is unfair, I am persecuted by the opinion of certain individuals. We understand the members' difficulties. My presence as the founder of KSP is here to help settle obligations. But we are preparing the right scheme," he said.

Juniver Girsang stated that Henry had no bad intentions as the founder. Moreover, running away and disappearing with money from members or customers.

"If he (Henry) is naughty, he has been running away for a long time," he said.

Systemic Impact

According to Juniver, the KSP Indosurya default case which was said to have reached Rp14 trillion was a systemic impact of a case involving a financial institution that was being discussed by the public last year. So, the issue related to Indosurya with the case has dropped the image and trust of the public, especially the members of the Indosurya KSP.

In the end, many KSP members withdrew their money massively at the same time. At the same time, the epidemic of COVID-19 began to hit and made many KSP debtors unable to pay their obligations. This imbalance makes KSP also run dry in liquidity.

"This is a systemic result of the existing conditions starting in 2019. Since then, the customers are no longer active and then their current smooth turnover has become choked up. The problem with funds in Indosurya KSP was rushed. So during a similar situation (case in financial institutions) were lifted, eventually affecting Indosurya, "he explained.

As is well known, the case of the alleged default of KSP Indosurya, has now turned to legal direction. A number of customers have filed for Postponement of KSP Indosurya's Debt Payment Obligation (PKPU) at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court. Until now, it is still in the stage of matching the list of customer receivables.
