Police Release 6 Fugitives From The COVID-19 Ambulance In Bengkulu, There Is A Prize Of IDR 5 Million For Residents Who Give Information
REJANG LEBONG - The Rejang Lebong Police, Bengkulu, has announced that six of the seven suspected robbers (begal) against COVID-19 ambulance officers are on the wanted list.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Rejang Lebong Police, AKP Rahmat Hadi Fitrianto, said that of the seven perpetrators of the robbery of two PSC 119 ambulance officers, one person was arrested with the initials DS.
"We have officially included the six suspects who are still at large in the Rejang Lebong Police DPO. We hope that they will turn themselves in soon," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, August 12.
AKP Rahmat explained that the six people who had been designated as DPOs in this violent theft case were all residents of Rejang Lebong, including BY (20), BM (35), EDS (33). The other three fugitives from the ambulance robbery are FM (18), RG and R.
The presence of six DPOs in the ambulance officer burglary case, he said, always moved and hid in plantations in the hills so that the officers had difficulty catching them.
The police have distributed photos of the identities of the six DPOs, and have held a competition for the public who can provide information on the whereabouts of each suspect and they will be given a reward of Rp. 5 million.
The ambulance burglary occurred in the early hours of Saturday, July 3rd. The mode of robbery carried out by the seven suspects was to spread nail mines so that the ambulance, which had just returned from delivering COVID-19 patients to the AR Bunda Hospital in Lubuklinggau, South Sumatra, had a tire burst and was then robbed.
As a result of this incident, the ambulance driver and PSC 119 Rejang Lebong nurse, under the threat of a sharp weapon, lost two mobile phones, medical equipment, and Rp150 thousand in cash.
