Nurdin Abdullah's Son Arrested For Purchase Of Jetski And Speedboat Engines

MAKASSAR - The son of the non-active Governor of South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Fathul Fauzi Nurdin was questioned over the purchase of two Jetski units and a speedboat outboard engine.

Fathul Fauzi Nurdin answered the KPK prosecutor's question regarding the purchase of two jetski units and a speedboat outboard engine regarding cashback of Rp119 million from CV Jetski Safari Makassar.

"Regarding the cashback, I don't know. What is certain is that the cashback was for the two jetskis that I bought and there was no agreement whatsoever," he said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, August 12.

The cashback from PT Jetski Makassar was transferred by Irham Samad who served as a director at CV Reso Utama. Irham Samad who was also present at the trial confirmed the sale and purchase transaction of the two jetskis amounting to Rp797 million.

"If the purchase is at the end of 2020, sir, by means of two transfers. The first purchase is Rp. 349 million and then the next purchase is Rp. 448 million," said Irham Samad in the same trial.

Fathul revealed the purchase of the two jetskis to be used as operational vehicles when visiting the islands in Makassar City, including the speedboat engine.

"At the end of 2020, I was asked by my father to find two jetski units, then I contacted Mr. Irham Samad, then the sale and purchase transaction took place," he explained.

He said Rp119 million and other Rp48 million had also been confiscated by the KPK as evidence.

Nurdin Abdullah was charged with accepting bribes worth 150,000 Singapore dollars (approximately Rp1.596 billion) and Rp2.5 billion from the defendant Agung Sucipto.

Nurdin Abdullah as a state official is suspected of accepting bribes to facilitate contractor Agung Sucipto in winning the Palampang-Munte-Botolempangan Road infrastructure project on the Bulukumba-Sinjai axis, South Sulawesi.
