Survey: Susi Pudjiastuti Becomes Public Favorite Alternative Figure
JAKARTA - The former Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Susi Pudjiastuti, is the community's favorite national alternative figure. This is based on the results of a survey conducted by the KedaiKOPI Survey Institute.
Director of the KedaiKOPI Survey Institute, Kunto Adi Wibowo said that Susi was liked by 1,200 respondents or 24.6 percent of the people surveyed. This is because he is considered brave even though he does not have formal education like most public figures.
"Susi Pudjiastuti is perceived by the public as a brave figure (21.3 percent) even though she has shortcomings due to her informal education (2.9 percent)," said Kunto in a written statement.
In the survey which was held on April 27-May 8 and June 2-June 4 using this online survey method, there were a number of other names that became the public's favorite figures.
They are Anies Baswedan (20.1 percent); Ridwan Kamil (15.4 percent); Tri Rismaharini (14.7 percent); Sri Mulyani (10.1 percent); Andi Amran Sulaiman (8.7 percent); Khofifah Indar Parawansa (4.1 percent), and Rizal Ramli (2.3 percent).
Kunto said that the name of the former Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman was quite interesting. This is because Andi is considered the only figure from Eastern Indonesia and represents the region.
In the survey, as many as 4.6 people rated Andi as having a good performance while in office. However, as many as 2.4 percent of the public consider themselves unknown.
A Senior Researcher at the KedaiKOPI Survey Institute, Justito Adiprasetio, explained the reason Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan was included in the list and became the most favored regional head.
According to him, Anies was much liked compared to Ridwan Kamil, Tri Rismaharini, and Khofifah Indarparawasa because 6.5 percent of respondents considered him to be outstanding.
However, as many as 7.5 percent of respondents considered the former Minister of Education and Culture less firm. "This is what he lacked," said Justito.
He also explained that from the survey, 65.3 percent of respondents thought Susi Pudjiastuti was a clean person. Then in second place, there is the name of West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil.
Furthermore, there are East Java Mayor Tri Risma Harini, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, and East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa.
As many as 49.9 percent of respondents considered Governor Anies a clean figure. Then followed by Khofifah, Andi Amran Sulaiman, and Rizal Ramli.
"A figure who is perceived to be fighting corruption in succession, Susi Pudjiastuti 63.8 percent; Ridwan Kamil 56 percent; Tri Rismaharini 53.8 percent; Sri Mulyani 51.2 percent; Khofifah Indar Parawansa 46.3 percent; Anies Baswedan 45.9 percent ; Andri Amran Sulaiman 43.6 percent; and Rizal Ramli 37.1 percent, "he said.
Then the figure who is assumed to be brave in acting is Susi Pudjiastuti 67.8 percent; Tri Rismaharini 56.7 percent; Ridwan Kamil 54.7 percent; Sri Mulyani 53.4 percent; Anies Baswedan 48.6 percent; Andri Amran Sulaiman 46.9 percent; Khofifah Indar Parawansa 46.7 percent; and Rizal Ramli 41.2 percent.
Meanwhile, the figure who is perceived as having a good performance, said Justito, is Susi Pudjiastuti 66.3 percent; Ridwan Kamil 61 percent; Tri Rismaharini 56.5 percent; Sri Mulyani 53.3 percent; Khofifah Indar Parawansa 49.2 percent; Anies Baswedan 46.8 percent; Andri Amran Sulaiman 44.5 percent; and Rizal Ramli 36.3 percent.
From these results, KedaiKOPI also concluded that the figures of Rizal Ramli, Andi Amran Sulaiman, and Khofifah Indar Parawansa were preferred by the lower class. Meanwhile, Tri Rismaharini and Sri Mulyani were favored by the opposite group.
Finally, Justito said, this survey shows those who are outside the government such as Susi Pudjiastuti and Andi Amran Sulaiman, or regional heads like Anies Baswedan and Ridwan Kamil have the same chance. They can continue to be liked and increase their popularity in public.
