LIPI Researcher Calls New Order Doing Engineering, Clashing Soekarno, Hatta Until Sutan Sjahrir
JAKARTA - Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) researcher Asvi Warman Adam said the New Order (Orba) was engineered to collide Soekarno and Mohammad Hatta.
This can be seen in a book distributed during the New Order era which states that Bung Karno abused Bung Hatta and also the founder of another nation, Sutan Sjahrir.
"I asked where, where is the source, what are the documents? And it was said that it was written in Bung Karno's book (titled) The People's Tongue Connector which was published by Mount Agung during the New Order era," Asvi said in a press release in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, August 12.
Asvi was one of the speakers at the virtual commemoration of the 199th Anniversary of the Proclaimer of the Republic of Indonesia Mohammad Hatta which was held by the Central National Cultural Agency (BKNP) of the PDI-P.
The event was attended by the Chairperson of the PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri, Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto, and Bung Hatta's daughter, Meutia Farida Hatta. Also present at the event were a number of PDIP DPP Chairmen including Ahmad Basarah and Tri Rismaharini, as well as BKNP ranks led by its chairman Aria Bima and hundreds of party cadres from all over Indonesia.
Then to find out the truth, Asvi also asked Syamsul Hadi, from the Bung Karno Foundation. Syamsul is a person who plays a role in correcting or revising the translation of the book by Cindy Adams, an American writer, about Bung Karno.
And it turns out, the engineering is in two 'additional' paragraphs or New Order-style engineering, which Asvi clearly finds.
One of the texts or paragraphs was written by Bung Karno as if he did not need Hatta and Sjahrir who were said to have refused to show themselves when reading the Proclamation.
"Then Syamsul Hadi checked the original English book and it turned out that there were no two very insulting paragraphs, they were not in English at all. So if that was the case, someone added those two paragraphs and they were read throughout the New Order," asserted Asvi who is also known as a Historian.
On that occasion, he also explained the facts about the leadership of the Dwitunggal in the early days of the Republic of Indonesia, namely Soekarno-Hatta. According to Asvi, Bung Karno and Bung Hatta were always together in fighting for independence until they led this nation together.
"There is no proclamation of independence without Bung Karno. There is no proclamation of independence without Bung Hatta. There is no proclamation of independence without Bung Karno and Bung Hatta," said Asvi.
The man who is familiarly called Prof Asvi said that the closeness of the two of them turned out to be disturbing to many parties. Until they are no longer in power, there are elements related to historical engineering.
Regarding Pancasila, Asvi said, history proves that Bung Karno was a Pancasila digger. At the same time, Asvi said, Bung Hatta was also the guardian and savior of Pancasila.
"It was Bung Hatta who on August 18, 1945 discussed with several Islamic figures about the abolition of the 7 words (the Jakarta Charter) and included 'Belief in One Supreme God. If there was no Hatta, the 7 words would still exist today,' said Asvi.
