IDI Remember Banda Aceh Hold On Tight Vehicle

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Aceh requested the establishment of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Banda Aceh City as a step to prevent a spike in COVID-19 cases, which must be followed by strict and comprehensive enforcement.

"We hope that the determination of PPKM level 4 in Banda Aceh must be followed by enforcement, and carried out together. If there is no enforcement, the possibility of cases will increase," said IDI Aceh Chair Dr Safrizal Rahman in Banda Aceh, reported by Antara, Thursday, August 12.

According to him, when an area is designated as an area that must implement level 4 PPKM, then it should implement it in accordance with the terms and conditions in level 4 PPKM.

For example, during PPKM level 4, such as teaching and learning activities must be done online, then 100 percent of workers must work from home or work from home (WFH) for non-essential sectors, and 50 percent for essential sectors related to community services, 25 percent for office administration who work alternately.

Furthermore, the operational time is limited to 20.00 WIB for supermarkets, traditional markets, shops, supermarkets, cafes and so on. At the same time, visitors must be limited to 50 percent and several other provisions in PPKM level 4.

"So (during PPKM level 4) only those who are allowed to work are in critical sectors such as doctors, those who seek treatment, and all kinds of things that cannot be postponed, they can work 100 percent," he said.

The purpose of implementing PPKM level 4 is to reduce the spike in COVID-19 cases. So if only teaching and learning activities take place online, while other sectors are not properly enforced in accordance with PPKM level 4 provisions, then the potential for an increase in new cases will continue to occur, he said.

Banda Aceh has started implementing PPKM level 4 since Tuesday (10/8). However, said Safirzal, his party still finds cafes and coffee shops as well as other business places that still serve visitors until late at night. Likewise with other sectors that have not fully implemented the PPKM level 4 provisions.

"Yes, it's been monitored until now there are coffee shops that are still open until 11 pm, they are still there. That's why we urge the government to take part in controlling it, there is still an appeal, if necessary sealing is also done, so that there is punishment for those who violate it," he said.

He added that the determination of the capital city of Banda Aceh as the area for implementing PPKM level 4 could not be separated from the increase in new cases of corona virus infection which was quite high in recent weeks. So it is hoped that PPKM level 4 is not only limited to determination but also followed by enforcement.

"IDI is very aware that the community's economy is very difficult to carry out PPKM level 4, but if we do this correctly, agree, together, then maybe it won't take long for us to lower the level again," he said.
