Dr Richard Lee Becomes Suspect In Illegal Access Case, Delete Posts On Instagram That Have Been Confiscated By PN

JAKARTA - Dr. Richard Lee is a suspect in the case of illegal access to Instagram accounts. This case became a scene because of the video recording of the police's attempt to arrest Dr. Richard Lee.

Then what is the illegal access case related to Richard Lee? At the root of the problem, Richard Lee deleted a post on Instagram which had actually been confiscated by the police through the South Jakarta District Court regarding the defamation report filed by Kartika Putri.

“Last December, there was a report of a person with the initials K reporting that the doctor RL was here about defamation in the drrichard_lee account. Where the reporter did not receive any tweets from RL in his account", said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Yusri Yunus, to reporters, Thursday, August 12.

From this report, the police investigated the cyber team. In the investigation regarding the defamation report filed by Kartika Putri, the Instagram account of Dr. Richard Lee was confiscated through the South Jakarta District Court on July 8.

But apparently, the police found Richard Lee's attempt to access an Instagram account that had become evident in the case of defamation of Kartika Putri.

"This happened illegally access and theft by someone then an investigation and investigation was carried out. Based on the results of the investigation, it was found that the illegal access and theft in the account that became evidence was carried out by RL (Richard Leee) himself", said Yusri.

Polda Metro Jaya emphasized that the handling of this illegal access case was different from the investigation of the good pollution that was reported by Kartika Putri.

On the suspicion of illegal access, Dr. Richard Lee was charged with Article 30 in conjunction with Article 46 of the Electronic Information and Transaction (ITE) Law.

Article 30 regulates:

  1. Every Person intentionally and without rights or against the law accesses Computers and/or Electronic Systems belonging to other persons in any way.
  2. Every Person intentionally and without rights or against the law accesses a Computer and/or Electronic System in any way to obtain Electronic Information and/or Electronic Documents.3
  3. Every Person intentionally and without rights or against the law accessing Computers and/or Electronic Systems in any way by violating, breaking through, exceeding, or breaking the security system (cracking, hacking, illegal access).
