Already Installed Billboards Everywhere, It Turns Out That Puan And Airlangga Are Still Not As Popular As Ganjar
JAKARTA - The survey institute Charta Politica Indonesia released the results of a survey on the level of recognition of political figures in relation to the 2024 presidential election.
The Executive Director of Charta Politics Yunarto Wijaya related the phenomenon of installing billboards everywhere by PDIP politician Puan Maharani and General Chair of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartato did not increase their electability.
Based on a survey as of July 2021, the most well-known figure is Prabowo Subianto, with 90.2 respondents knowing him. Then, as many as 87.3 percent of respondents knew Anies Baswedan, and 91.3 percent knew Sandiaga Uno.
Meanwhile, based on the level of preference of those who know each character, the name Ganjar Pranowo ranks at the top. As many as 92.76 respondents claimed to like Ganjar. In the next order, 92.3 percent like Susi Pudjiastuti, and 91.3 percent like Anies Baswedan.
"If you look at the highest level of preference, Ganjar Pranowo is number one, second Susi, third Anies Baswedan who is balanced with Sandiaga Uno. While other names still have big homework, because usually what is considered sufficient prerequisite to run for presidential and vice presidential candidates is at least 60 percent," Yunarto said in a virtual press conference, Thursday, August 12.
Meanwhile, Puan's name is far below the names of the top three figures. Currently, Puan's recognition rate is 60.7 percent and her liking rate is 72.1 percent.
"If you look at it, Mbak Puan Maharani, with extraordinary billboards and extraordinary conversations, it turns out that her recognition is still at 60.7 percent. It hasn't reached numbers that surpass other figures whose billboards are not as many as Mbak Puan," said Yunarto.
Likewise with Airlangga. Currently, Airlangga's recognition rate is 30.4 percent and his liking rate is 82.5 percent.
"Mas Airlangga Hartarto is still at 30.4 percent. This is still far below the names that we have never seen on billboards," he said.
Likewise with the electability of the figures who will be chosen by respondents during the presidential election. Ganjar Pranowo tops the list with 16.2 percent electability, then Prabowo 14.8 percent, and Anies Baswedan 14.6 percent.
Meanwhile, the names Puan Maharani and Airlangga have low electability. Puan is in 17th place and Airlangga is 18th with an electability of 0.7 percent each.
"It can be assumed that the many attributes in the form of billboards and billboards that are viral on social media are not linearly correlated with the electability level. There is a very low effectiveness of the massive campaign run by Mbak Puan and Mas Airlangga," he said.
Yunarto views that one of the factors is that a number of names are ranked as the most widely known, liked, and have high electability because they have served or have served as regional heads or other executive officials.
"Perhaps, because they serve as regional heads, it turns out that they have exceeded the recognition level of figures who are massively putting up billboards," he explained.
For information, this survey was conducted in the range of 12 to 20 July 2021. The sample was selected completely at random using the multistage random sampling method.
Respondents who took part in the survey were 1,200 people with a margin of error of around 2.83 percent at a confidence level of 95 percent.
