Flash Flood Victims In North Luwu Will Get Earthquake Resistant Houses
JAKARTA - The construction of 400 permanent housing units (huntap) assisted by BNPB for communities affected by flash floods and landslides in North Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi has been underway. As conveyed by the Regent of North Luwu Indah Putri Indriani, the shelter is very much awaited by the disaster-affected community to become a decent place to live.
Indah said, it is important for providers or applicators to pay attention to potential non-technical obstacles such as weather conditions, so as not to hinder the achievement of accelerated shelter development.
"Even though the contract is 360 days, but if you can speed it up, please speed it up. Take full advantage of the information from the BMKG, as well as community support, to ensure that, even if there are obstacles encountered in its implementation, they can be addressed immediately and find solutions," explained Indah. to reporters, Wednesday 11 August.
Responding to this, Krisna Dewanti, General Manager of the Tatalogam Group, as the provider, said that the houses produced were specifically designed to meet the needs of strong, fast and economical homes. For this reason, he is optimistic that the construction will be completed as soon as possible.
“It is designed to be built in a relatively short time. The construction of the house only takes 10 days if the land is ready. The installation is also quite easy so that local communities can play a role in the development. We also provide handyman training before starting work at all construction sites,” explained Krisna.
In addition to the speed of construction time and economical prices, Krisna continued, the houses built were designed with the concept of an earthquake-resistant house (RTG), as evidenced by the results of laboratory tests from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).
“The structure of the house is not made of wood, so that apart from being earthquake resistant, it is also environmentally friendly. The material uses a lot of mild steel. Therefore, the building's durability is at least 25 years," explained Krisna again.
