The Police Did Not Open Up About The Novel Baswedan Assault Case

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the National Police had the latest developments, related to the hard water assault case of KPK senior investigator Novel Baswedan. It's just that, there is no definite information about what the latest findings are claimed to reveal the mastermind behind the case.

The National Police also seemed to close the results of these developments by continuing to provide the same information over and over again. Head of National Police DivHumas Penum Kombes Asep Adi Saputra said that all development results will be submitted in detail on time.

"Later on, it will be conveyed to the public regarding the development of the results of the technical team's work in connection with the incident experienced by Novel Baswedan," said Asep in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 11.

In fact, when asked about the developments that have been obtained, Asep seemed to shut his mouth tightly. It can only be said that the significant developments that the Police have received are related to previous evidence.

However, the statement made did not answer questions about the progress of the watering case that has not been completed over the past two years.

"We'll wait a minute, yes, the technical team will certainly deliver it on time. Significant means that there is evidence of development from the previous investigation," said Asep.

The hard water sprinkling case experienced by KPK senior investigator Novel Baswedan has not been revealed. The case, which began on April 11, 2017, has not found a bright spot for about two years. Various efforts were made, starting from the formation of a team of investigators to a grace period that was continuously extended.

However, similar results or no progress have been repeated over and over. Until finally, early December 2019, Jokowi ordered the Police to thoroughly investigate the case in a matter of days.
