3 Java-Bali PPKM Violators Sentenced To 10 Months In Prison
JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta District Court held a virtual hearing against three defendants who violated the Java-Bali Emergency PPKM. The three defendants named Didi, Lusiana and Teddy had previously undergone a series of trials.
Head of Intel Head of the Central Jakarta District Attorney, Bani Immanuel Ginting, said that on Tuesday, August 10, yesterday, the Central Jakarta District Court had read out the verdict with the case being tried.
"There are three defendants who are undergoing trial decisions," said Bani confirmed, Wednesday, August 11.
Based on the results of the trial, said Bani, the three defendants were legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act as regulated and threatened in Article 14 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 4 of 1984 concerning Outbreaks of Infectious Diseases.
In their indictment, the three defendants were required to be jailed for 6 months with a probationary period of 8 months or a fine of Rp. 1,000,000. However, the result of the judge's decision did not give a fine, but a probationary sanction.
"The panel of judges in their decision sentenced them to prison for 10 months with a probationary period of 1 year and paid a court fee of Rp. 5,000," he said. but not locked up in the Correctional Institution (LP) but in his own area while being monitored.
If the convict violates the probationary period, he will be sent to a correctional institution without a trial.
"So, during this probationary period the defendant should not commit any crime for one year according to his decision. If he commits a crime within this year, then he must serve 10 months," he said.
