Tapin Residents Who Bring Homemade Firearms Arrested
TAPIN - The Satreskrim Team of Tapin Police, South Kalimantan, arrested a man with the initials S (41) from Balawaian, for possessing a homemade firearm.
"The man was arrested for possessing or possessing a revolver-type homemade firearm along with four rounds of ammunition," said Tapin Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Iksan Prananto, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 10.
The pretext of the perpetrator carrying the weapon in the car was because the firearm was inherited from his parents several years ago.
"The homemade weapon was inherited from his late father, he said, since eight years ago. That is the reason the perpetrator carried a firearm," he explained.
Because of the inherited firearm, the perpetrator is threatened with Article 1 paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 and is threatened with a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
