Unair Academics: Creating Important Regulations For Digital Infrastructure Order

JAKARTA - Professor of Communications at Airlangga University, Henri Subiakto said, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) launched digital transformation as the future of Indonesia. For that, Henri said, it is necessary to prepare well for the digital transformation that has begun since now.

"Digital transformation by building infrastructure, strengthening human resources and also creating regulations to organize infrastructure or organize life in the future," said Henri in the BAKTI Kominfo discussion with the theme "Utilization of ICT for Social and Business", quoted Tuesday, August 10.

Henri further said that preparations for digital transformation also need to be supported by the existence of a bill on the protection of personal data and other complementary regulations.

"Because even though infrastructure development has not been completed, now internet users in Indonesia have reached 202.6 million, with a population of around 275 million internet users, which is approaching 74 percent," he said.

Meanwhile, Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission I, Rizki Sadig, stated that the pandemic situation made all parties need to be grateful. The reason is, if there is no pandemic, the DPR government and the entire community will still not be able to use technology optimally.

"The government is also forced to allocate a large amount of budget, the DPR is forced to discuss the rules that we may not have properly implemented regarding the protection of personal data, on how to convey about the problems of public relations programs and technical relations and so on. ," said Rizki Sadig.

At a time when people's economic situations are not the same, he continued, public understanding of the use of technology is an extraordinary challenge faced by the government, the DPR and the community.
