The Indonesian Contingent Leaves For The Tokyo Paralympics 17 August 2021
JAKARTA - The Indonesian contingent for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics is scheduled to start departing on August 17 or in conjunction with Indonesia's Independence Day.
Based on the timeline received by Antara from the Indonesian NPC, the departure of the Red and White Contingent was divided into four groups. Athletes from the table tennis, swimming and cycling competitions will be the first and depart on August 17 at 06:15 WIB from Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
Table tennis consists of three athletes and two coaches. The cyclists have one athlete and coach each. While the swimming two athletes as well as coaches and staff amounted to three people.
One day later, it was the turn of the badminton and powerlifters who departed from Soekarno-Hatta Airport on August 18 at 21:25 WIB. The second batch is scheduled to arrive in Tokyo, August 19.
For badminton, there are seven athletes. They will be accompanied by coaches and therapists with a total of four people. While powerlifting one athlete and coach each.
Meanwhile, the third batch will dispatch athletes from athletics with details of seven athletes and three coaches. In addition, the main group will also depart together, including Chef de Mission (CdM) Indonesia for the Tokyo Paralympics Andi Herman.
The shooters were the last group to leave for Tokyo on August 23. The last batch consisted of two athletes and four coaches and staff.
Overall, the Indonesian contingent at the Tokyo Paralympics amounted to 60 people, including 23 athletes from seven sports.
