Meaning Of Hijrah In A Pandemic Period, Dude Harlino: Don't Just Wait For Help

JAKARTA - The Islamic New Year or Hijri falls today, Tuesday, August 10. Dude Harlino said it should be used as a momentum to review and introspect so that it can be better than last year.

Although there is no special activity to commemorate the Hijri New Year, the soap opera actor and the big screen actor admitted that he still interprets the values of spirituality with his wife, Alyssa Soebandono, and their two children.

"Both of us are currently busy filming, so most of the time we are on set and there are no special events to commemorate the Islamic New Year. We just take the meaning," said Dude Harlino, quoted from Antara on Tuesday, August 10.

"If we look at its history, the new hijri year happened when the Prophet Muhammad emigrated from Mecca to Medina," continued Dude. He said "hijrah" also means moving towards something better.

"If we follow the example of the Prophet's migration, God willing, this 1st Muharram will also make us strong in facing this difficult pandemic period," he added.

He hopes that more people will help and support each other, especially for people affected by the pandemic.

“I think whoever is capable at this time, come on, let's move together because this condition cannot only be faced by one or two parties. Don't just wait for help," he said.

Dude said that he tried to have a good attitude in all conditions even though it was not easy. "I hope that in the years ahead, our lives will be easier and this pandemic can be ended soon so that we can carry out activities as usual," he said.

Apart from being busy filming the latest soap opera entitled "Cinta Amara" with Alyssa Soebandono, Dude Harlino regularly creates content to fill his YouTube channel, The Harlinos Story, once a week. He is also still actively participating in online Islamic studies with his friends.

Dude said that currently most of his life is devoted to looking after and caring for his two sons, especially helping guide them during distance learning. This is the biggest challenge for him because he indirectly has to be a teacher while at home.
