Bansos Fund Corruption, Bandung Regent Aa Umbara And His Son Immediately Tried At The Bandung Corruption Court
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has transferred the case files of the inactive West Bandung Regent Aa Umbara Sutisna and other defendants, including her son, to the Bandung Corruption Court. They will soon be tried in relation to the alleged corruption case of the COVID-19 social assistance.
This delegation was carried out by the KPK Public Prosecutor on Monday, August 9 yesterday.
"KPK Prosecutor Budi Nugraha has transferred the case files of the defendant Aa Umbara Sutisna et al to the Corruption Court at the Bandung District Court," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters quoted on Tuesday, August 10.
The files that were transferred apart from Aa Umbara's property also belonged to her children, Andri Wibawa and M Totoh Gunawan, who are private parties. Furthermore, the detention of the three is now the authority of the Corruption Court.
Even so, they are currently still placed in different prisons. Aa Umbara Sutisna is being held at the KPK Rutan, Gedung Merah Putih Branch, Andri Wibawa is being held at the KPK Rutan Lot C1, and M Totoh Gunawan is being held at the KPK Detention Center Pomdam Jaya Guntur.
"The public prosecutor's team then waits for the appointment of the panel of judges and the date of the trial with the initial agenda of reading the indictment," said Ali.
In this alleged corruption, Aa Umbara was charged with two articles, namely Article 12 letter i of the Anti-Corruption Law in Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code and origin 12 B of the Anti-Corruption Law in Article 65 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code. Meanwhile Andri and M Totoh were charged with Article 12 letter i of the Corruption Act in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code.
Previously, the KPK named Aa Umbara along with Andri Wibawa and M Totoh as suspects in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of emergency goods for the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the regent of West Bandung, he is suspected of having received Rp1 billion in cash. Meanwhile, the son, Andri Wibawa, who also received the procurement project, received a profit of Rp. 2.7 billion and M. Totoh Gunawan received Rp. 2 billion.
