Good News! PPKM Level 3 Region Outside Java-Bali Can Open Face-to-Face Schools
JAKARTA - The government has extended the level 4, level 3 and level 2 restrictions on community activities (PPKM) outside Java-Bali for two weeks until August 23.
However, there has been an easing of restrictions this time, believing that regions that are categorized as level 3 are allowed to hold face-to-face teaching and learning activities with strict health protocols.
"The change in PPKM level 3 arrangements outside Java-Bali, teaching and learning activities can be carried out face-to-face for a maximum of 50 percent," said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto in a virtual press conference, Monday, August 9.
Airlangga said there were several areas that experienced changes in the PPKM level. For example, there is an area that drops from level 4 to level 3.
"Outside of Java, there are 132 regencies/cities outside Java, but the 45 regencies/cities that we are upgrading are still at level four. Level 3 has 215 regencies/cities. Level 2 has 39 regencies/cities," he said.
Airlangga said PPKM outside Java-Bali was extended for two weeks. This is done because the number of COVID-19 cases in Java has decreased.
"Especially outside Java-Bali, an extension will be applied for 2 weeks, namely August 10 to 23, because it is different from the island of Java, which has declined," he said.
In addition to face-to-face schools, Airlangga said, shopping centers or malls are allowed until 20:00 local time with a maximum of 50 percent capacity and are required to wear masks.
Then, specifically for restaurants, they are allowed to eat at places with a maximum of 50 percent of the total capacity and strict health protocols.
"Places of worship are allowed to carry out activities, a maximum of 50 percent capacity or 50 percent with strict procedures," he said.
