Bamsoet Critics Ask People To Give Solutions, Rocky Gerung: Should Call Jokowi To Hold A Special Session
JAKARTA - Political expert Rocky Gerung gave a sharp criticism of the Chairman of the MPR RI, Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet). This criticism follows Bamsoet's opinion about students who are diligent in criticizing but poor in providing solutions to the government.
For Rocky, the statement of the Golkar politician is strange because he has to return the search for solutions to the people. Whereas by law, the MPR has been given a mandate to represent the people. "When did he return to the people? This is crazy, this Golkar person, is it weird," said Rocky through the @Rocky Gerung Official Youtube channel quoted Monday, August 9.
Rocky said that the MPR should use one of the rights mandated by the people, namely by summoning President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Jokowi should be asked why he issued such a hasty policy to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
"This MPR should have a special session calling the president why can't he come up with a solution so he asks the people to come up with a solution. Right, this is the chairman of the MPR, he represents the people, so the president's interpellation should be like that,"
"If there is a bad government policy, use your most basic rights, which we give that are given by the people, ask questions," said Rocky.
The chairman of the MPR RI Bamsoet previously responded to the action plan carried out by students against holding PPKM. Bamsot assessed that the action plan was a threat to others because it was held in the midst of a pandemic.
Bamsoet said that ideally students should be able to provide solutions to the government in dealing with the pandemic rather than just rallies.
"Unfortunately, as far as the public knows, they only reject PPKM but do not provide a solution. For other parties who are enthusiastic about recommending a lockdown policy, the recommendation should also be accompanied by a calculation of the negative impacts or excesses of the lockdown," said Bamsoet as quoted by Antara.
