Thursday, JCI Opened To Weaken 0.36 Percent To 4,969.88 Levels
JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) opened slightly lower on Thursday, June 18 trading. JCI opened lower by 0.36 percent or 17.90 points to the level of 4,969.88.
Opening trades, 24 stocks rose, 64 stocks fell, and 64 stocks remained stagnant. The trading volume was recorded at 42.17 million shares and was transacted for IDR 16.53 billion.
Binaartha Sekuritas analyst M. Nafan Aji Gusta Utama predicts that today's JCI will move higher. Based on technical analysis, the resistance area for today is in the range of the level of 5097 to 5,172. Meanwhile, the index support area for today is in the range of levels between 4,865 to 4,778.
"There is a potential for further strengthening in the JCI movement so that it has the opportunity to go to the nearest resistance," Nafan said in his research.
As for a number of share recommendations that can be considered by investors, including PT Bekasi Fajar Industrial Estate Tbk (BEST), PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk (GJTL), PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY), PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF), and PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA).
Reliance Sekuritas Indonesia analyst Lanjar Nafi also predicts the JCI is still in positive momentum and has the potential to test the resistance area. The support and resistance areas for today's index movement are predicted to be in the range of levels between 4,950 and 5,100.
"Furthermore, investors will wait for BI's decision on interest rates, which are estimated to be cut 25 basis points to 4.25 percent from 4.50 percent," said Lanjar.
Stocks that investors can watch out for in today's trade include PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO), PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), and PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITMG). Then, investors can also look at the shares of PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (BDMN), PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPI), PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk (WTON), PT Pakuwon Jati Tbk (PWON), and PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk (MNCN) .
