After Being Left By Messi, Barcelona Lost Aguero For About 10 Weeks Due To A Calf Injury

JAKARTA - Barcelona got a big blow ahead of the start of the new season after Sergio Aguero was ruled out for around 10 weeks or until mid-October due to a tendon injury in his right calf.

Aguero joined Barcelona on a free transfer earlier this summer after leaving Manchester City at the end of last season with his contract running out.

Despite just joining, there are already problems surrounding Aguero's status with Barcelona. The Catalan club have still not been able to register the 33-year-old striker because their salary budget still exceeds the limit set by La Liga.

However, he has already missed the Joan Gamper Trophy match on Monday morning WIB against Juventus. Barcelona also confirmed Aguero had a calf injury.

"Tests carried out on first-team player Sergio Aguero have confirmed a tendon injury in his right calf. The player will be out for about 10 weeks," Barcelona said on their official website on Monday.

Aguero has often struggled with injuries in recent seasons. He played 32 times in 2019-20, but made just 12 Premier League appearances for City last season.
