Central Java's Economy Grows 5.66 Percent In The Second Quarter Of 2021, Ganjar Pranowo: Alhamdulillah, People Have Started Shopping
JAKARTA - The economy of Central Java in the second quarter of 2021 grew positively to 5.66 percent during the COVID-19 pandemic or increased compared to the first quarter of 2021 which was still minus 0.84 percent.
"Alhamdulillah, it is positive, we are positive at 5.66 percent. National is 7 percent, which means we see it is good," said Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo in Semarang, quoted from Antara, Monday 9 August.
According to him, the current economic growth is mostly driven by consumption and government spending, which has been increased in accordance with the direction of President Joko Widodo.
"But we really have to prepare these figures, that there are still many who have been laid off, the absorption of the workforce is not too significant, but thank God the position has started to improve," he said.
The economy in the community, continued Ganjar, has also started to stretch, even all regencies/cities, BUMN, BUMD and all agencies are also taking action with the spending movement in the community.
"I am happy to be sent pictures, many OPDs in districts/cities have also eaten snacks. Buy them from the community, so the community's economy is rolling. I thank you because no matter how small your friends have contributed to this," he said.
Previously, the Central Java Statistics Agency (BPS) released a positive Central Java economic growth in the second quarter of 2021 at 5.56 percent after briefly minus -5.91 percent in the second quarter of 2020.
BPS noted that Central Java's economic growth was driven by various sectors, namely in terms of production, Central Java's economic growth was driven by almost all business fields, with the highest growth from transportation and warehousing which grew by 85.43 percent.
Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the component that experienced the highest increase occurred in the export component of 34.43 percent.
