PDIP Asks The Government To Make A House Of Worship A Center For COVID-19 Control

JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX DPR RI Rahmad Handoyo asked the government to collaborate with religious leaders and administrators of places of worship to support the success of the national vaccination program. According to him, houses of worship such as mosques, churches, temples, monasteries, and temples can become centers of COVID-19 control.

This was said by Rahmad because on the facts on the ground, there are still many people who are reluctant and do not want to participate in the vaccination program for reasons that do not make sense.

For example, vaccines are dangerous, then there are those who question the content of the vaccine, and some are even reluctant to be vaccinated because the vaccine is imported from certain countries. "Well, I believe, if religious leaders say that vaccines are very useful and help people avoid getting seriously ill due to COVID-19, then people who previously were not willing to be vaccinated will finally come voluntarily," said Rahmad, Monday, 9 August.

Rahmad believes that religious leaders must also be touched to participate in the fight against COVID-19. Because this disaster has claimed many victims. “They must be willing if their house of worship is used as a vaccination site. I see that there are quite a number of places of worship holding vaccinations," said the PDIP politician.

"But in order to achieve the vaccination target, more places of worship should be used as centers for controlling COVID-19," continued Rahmad. handling COVID-19 through houses of worship such as mosques, churches. "So far, we only have two weapons in the fight against COVID-19, namely strict procedures and vaccinations. Therefore, religious leaders and administrators of houses of worship must cooperate for the success of the national vaccination program ," he said.

He reminded that religious leaders and administrators of places of worship are respected individuals and trusted by the people. "Therefore, they (religious leaders) should be invited and cooperated in the fight against COVID-19," said Rahmad.
