Dennis Thomas 'Kool & The Gang' Dies At The Age Of 70

JAKARTA - Dennis Thomas, a member of the Kool & the Gang group, passed away on Saturday, August 7th. The sad news was announced by the band through their social media.

"A beloved husband, father, and co-founder of Kool & the Gang passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 70 in New Jersey," the band said in a statement.

Thomas briefly performed with Kool & the Gang at the Hollywood Bowl stage in Los Angeles on July 4.

Dennis Thomas was an original member of the group where he played the saxophone, flute, percussion, and opened the band during concerts. Thomas founded Kool & the Gang with Ronald Bell and Robert Bell.

Born on February 9, 1951, Thomas received two Grammy awards and seven American Music Awards. They also sold more than 70 million albums and scored various hits.

Dennis Thomas was also involved in the making of Kool & the Gang's latest album titled Perfect Union which was released this year. They are also actively promoting in a number of events and stages.

Dennis Thomas died at the age of 70 and left a wife and three children.
