Reviewing PT Unilever Indonesia's Vaccination In Surabaya, Vice Mayor Armuji Asks Other Companies To Follow Soon

JATIM - Deputy Mayor of Surabaya Armuji encouraged business entities to work together to accelerate COVID-19 vaccination in order to achieve group immunity.

"We encourage business entities in Surabaya to accelerate vaccination in order to achieve group immunity, so that people's activities will return to normal and the economy will slowly recover," said Deputy Mayor of Surabaya Armuji when reviewing the mass vaccination held by PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk on the PT SIER page, Rungkut, Antara. , Sunday, August 8th.

The vaccinations held by PT Unilever are prioritized for factory employees in the Rungkut Industri area and their families. Armuji said that the trend of COVID-19 infection in Surabaya has gradually decreased, the recovery rate has increased and the death rate has decreased.

Even the availability of bedrooms in hospitals (BOR) has reached 70 percent, where two weeks earlier it was still at 100 percent.

This, said Armuji, was due to the implementation of the 5M health protocol and the acceleration of vaccination by the local government. In addition, medical efforts are also carried out at the puskesmas level as well as centralized isolation to anticipate transmission.

"I also appreciate PT Unilever for vaccinating employees and their families using the Sinopharm Vaccine with 78 percent efficacy. Hopefully others will follow," he said.

He hopes that more business entities will participate in the Mutual Cooperation Vaccine program to accelerate the achievement of group immunity so that community activities return to normal and the economy slowly recovers.

Unilever's Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) Manager Hengky Harsono said that the COVID-19 vaccination target this time was 950 employees. He hopes that this vaccination will help the government break the chain of the spread of COVID-19.
