3 Years Of PKH Persons 'Potek' Rp450 Million Bansos Funds In Malang, Police: Use To Buy Motorcycles And Medical Expenses

MALANG - Malang Resort Police (Polres) arrested one person accompanying the Family Hope Program (PKH) suspected of misusing social assistance funds (bansos) in Malang Regency, East Java.

Malang Police Chief AKBP Bagoes Wibisono said the female PKH companion with the initials PTH, was 28 years old and has now been named a suspect.

"We have carried out a case title. The reported party on behalf of PTH was named a suspect based on strong evidence. Currently the suspect is being held at the Malang Police Rutan," said Bagoes in Malang as quoted by Antara, Sunday, August 8.

Bagoes explained that the suspect PTH was one of the companions at PKH in Pagelaran District, Malang Regency. The suspect served from 12 September 2016 to 10 May 2021.

Based on the results of the investigation, the suspect is suspected of misusing PKH social assistance funds in the 2017-2020 fiscal year. The social assistance funds that were misused belonged to 37 Beneficiary Families (KPM) whose value reached Rp. 450 million.

The mode used was that the suspect did not give Prosperous Family Cards (KKS) to 37 KPM, with details as many as 16 KKS were never given to KPM, 17 KKS were not present or died, and four KKS were only partially given.

"The suspect's motive was to misuse the aid funds belonging to the 37 KPM for personal gain," he said.

Based on the results of the investigation, said Bagoes, the Rp450 million fund was used by the suspect for medical expenses for parents, the purchase of various types of electronic goods, and the purchase of two-wheeled motorized vehicles, and for daily needs.

For his actions, the suspect will be subject to Article 2 paragraph 1 subsidiary Article 3 subsidiary Article 8 Law Number 20 of 2021 on Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes.

"The money is used for parental treatment, and buying electronic goods. For personal needs at home. Motorcycles for daily mobility," he said.

The police secured a number of evidences in the form of 33 KKS cards in the name of KPM, and 30 BNI bank account books in the name of KPM. Then a number of checking accounts, a number of electronic equipment, one unit of two-wheeled vehicles, cash amounting to Rp. 7.2 million.

Some time ago, the Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini found allegations of misuse of PKH social assistance funds in the Malang Regency, East Java.

This finding began when the Minister of Social Affairs received a report on the misuse of PKH social assistance funds that occurred in Kanigoro Village, Pagelaran District, Malang Regency. The Ministry of Social Affairs then reported the findings to the police.
