After Undergoing Quarantine At The Athlete House, 2 Acehnese Who Were Deported By Malaysia Were Immediately Repatriated

ACEH - The Aceh government through the Aceh Government Liaison Agency (BPPA) in Jakarta immediately repatriated two Acehnese from Pidie Jaya and Pidie districts who had just been deported by Malaysia.

"Two Acehnese Halimatun Sakdiah, 39 years old (Pidie Jaya) and 47-year-old Anwar (Pidie) who were deported from Malaysia will be returned to Aceh tomorrow," said Head of BPPA Almuniza Kamal in a statement received in Banda Aceh, Antara, Friday, August 6th.

Almuniza said the two Acehnese had arrived in Jakarta since Wednesday, July 28, 2021. However, so far they have to undergo COVID-19 quarantine at Wisma Atlet, Kemayoran, Jakarta, and were only released on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.

"We have confirmed their whereabouts. But they have no money and have asked the Aceh government for help to return them to their respective villages," he said.

Almuniza said that after coordinating with the Aceh Social Service, it was decided that the repatriation of the two Acehnese would be carried out by the respective district governments.

"They will be sent home via Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Saturday, at 11.40 WIB, using a Lion Air plane," he said.

Upon arrival at Sultan Iskandar Muda Blang Bintang Airport in Aceh Besar, both of them will be sent back to their respective hometowns.

Almuniza said, the BPPA team received information on the whereabouts of the two Acehnese who were quarantined at the Kemayoran Athlete's House on Saturday, June 31. Then, his party immediately moved quickly to collect data until it was decided to return home.

Almuniza added, for the residents of Pidie Jaya, his party has coordinated with the Regional Secretary and the Deputy Regent of Pidie Jaya, Said Mulyadi. Meanwhile, for Pidie residents, BPPA contacted the Pidie Regional Secretary.

"After we explained, the two regency governments agreed to repatriate their citizens. We are only facilitating," said Almuniza.

For now, continued Almuniza, the two Acehnese have been handed over from the Acting UPT of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) Zuni Arfifianto to BPPA, and are being kept at the BPPA Shelter House in Cipinang, East Jakarta before departing.

Meanwhile, Deputy Regent of Pidie Jaya Said Mulyadi said that when he arrived at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, his party would pick up residents and take them directly to their homes.

"We will pick them up at the airport, and we will also take them directly to their homes," said Said Mulyadi.
