Muller's Emotion After Bayern Munich Won The Bundesliga Title Eight Times In A Row

JAKARTA - Bayern Munich have just been crowned Bundesliga champions for the eighth time in a row. FC Hollywood snatched the title with two games remaining after beating Werder Bremen 1-0 on Tuesday, June 16 evening through a Robert Lewandowski goal.

Bayern had a bad start to the season. Thomas Muller is struggling to keep his place in the team under coach Niko Kovac, who was sacked in November.

But Hansi Flick came on as head coach and led the champions to stunning results. They won 26 of 29 matches in all competitions.

Bayern's last win at Werder Bremen again confirmed their Bundesliga title. Through Robert Lewandowski's goal, before the controversial red card received by Alphonso Davies.

After crossing the finish line, Muller expressed his pride and emotions.

"We have had to fight hard, but that represents a little bit of the situation in recent weeks," he told ARD. "We are still fighting hard.

"The fighting spirit, regardless of quality, is enormous.

"With this comeback we started and the way we played in the second half of the season, I rarely have so many emotional moments in a Bundesliga game, whether at Borussia Dortmund [last month's 1-0 win] or today.

"When I look at my team-mates, we achieved this common goal and it is one that we are proud to achieve."

Bayern's celebrations have been slightly hampered by restrictions due to the outbreak of COVID-19. But Muller is determined to enjoy this win.

"We will devote ourselves at night according to the rules and let emotions run wild for now," he said.

"During the early COVID-19 period, everyone should have their own 'table' (keep their distance), but we don't have to give up.

"You can still lift the glass two meters away with a little distance."

Meanwhile, Hansi Flick did not shy away from the chance to win the treble this season. Bayern now turn their attention to the DFB-Pokal final against Bayer Leverkusen and then the Champions League.

The German champions led 3-0 in the first leg against Chelsea in the last 16 of Europe's elite club competition.

"We have now taken the first step and achieved our first big goal by winning the championship," head coach Flick told Sky Sport. "But we still have DFB-Pokal as our next destination.

"Of course, there is also the Champions League. Obviously it can't be planned. It will be difficult enough to get through the game against Chelsea first.

"Then we'll see what happens. It will be difficult and we have to be fit."
