Bogor City Emergency Logistics Post Receives 16,000 Food Packages

BOGOR - The Emergency Logistics Post established by the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force, since July 3 until now, has received assistance of around 16,000 food packages from various donors.

"The food packages that were received by the Logistics Command Post were then distributed to residents in need throughout the city of Bogor," said Head of the Bogor City COVID-19 Task Force, Bima Arya, quoted by Antara, Friday, August 6.

According to Bima Arya, the target recipients of the basic food package assistance are mainly residents who are exposed to COVID-19 and undergoing independent isolation (isoman) as well as residents who are economically affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Residents affected by the economy, there are casual daily workers, street vendors (street vendors), and workers who have lost their jobs," he said.

Bima said that the food package assistance received by the Emergency Logistics Command came from donors, ranging from government agencies, state-owned enterprises, private companies, organizations, communities, to individuals.

Bima also appealed to residents of the City of Bogor and its surroundings who have more sustenance and share it, to donate it in the form of food packages to the Emergency Logistics Command Post for the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

"The food packages are to be distributed to people in need," he said.

Bima explained that not all of the assistance received by the Emergency Logistics Command was in the form of food packages, but many were still in large units.

He gave an example, on Thursday, August 5, the Logistics Command Post received assistance in the form of five tons of rice from PT Esteh Indonesia.

"Officers at the Posko will re-weigh into small sizes for basic food packages," he said.

CEO of PT Esteh Indonesia, Haidhar Wurjanto, when handing over the aid, said that the rice aid he handed over was expected to help ease the burden on Bogor City residents who were exposed to and affected by the Level 4 PPKM policy.

According to Haidhar, the current implementation of PPKM has had a profound impact on the community, including residents of Bogor City. "There are workers whose data collection has decreased and some have even been laid off," he said.

Haidar hopes that with the assistance of basic necessities, the affected residents can keep their spirits up.
