Motorcycle Thief Breaks Fence Padlock, Lidya: Only Two Months, Cash Not Credit

JAKARTA – It seems that Lidya's fate is unlucky. This woman, a resident of Cipayung, East Jakarta, lost the motorcycle she had just bought for cash. The incident occurred at Lidya's house in the Lubang Buaya area, Cipayung District, East Jakarta.

Lidya told reporters that her motorbike was bought in cash from the results of saving for 2 years. At the time of the incident, the motorbike was inside the fence of the house. The perpetrators of the theft entered after slowly opening the gate of the house.

Lidya discovered the theft when she was about to perform the dawn prayer. He was surprised when he saw his motorcycle was not in the right place.

"He (the perpetrator) opened the gate first, then pushed the sliding fence slightly. The incident happened at around 03.15 WIB. At that time, the condition of the fence was in a locked position. The perpetrator removed the padlock first," the victim told reporters, Friday, August 6.

Even though there was more than one motorbike in the victim's house, the perpetrators who were strongly suspected of having observed finally chose the newest victim's motorbike.

"The motorbike that was taken is in the middle, a new motorbike. It happens often here. There are two perpetrators, their friends also use motorbikes," he admitted.

The theft of the motorbike was successfully recorded by CCTV surveillance cameras at the victim's house. From the visual of the CCTV image, it can be seen that one of the two perpetrators entered the victim's house slowly.

While inside the house, the perpetrator broke the ignition of the victim's latest automatic motorbike. Meanwhile, one other perpetrator monitored the situation from outside the victim's house. In just seconds, the theft specialist immediately took the victim's motorbike away.

The victim again explained that before the theft occurred, a neighbor said he had seen an unknown person monitoring his house.

"Yesterday, after distributing social assistance, neighbors saw someone monitoring the house at around 02.30 WIB. The theft has been reported to the police. I hope the police can quickly catch the perpetrators," Lidya hoped.
