Jakarta Composite Index Closed Stronger Tuesday, Nearly Touching 5,000

JAKARTA - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) closed significantly higher on trading Tuesday, June 16. JCI closed up 3.53 percent or 170.12 pins at 4,986.56.

Closing the trade, 341 stocks rose, 102 stocks fell, and 144 stocks fell. Trading volume was recorded at 9.59 billion shares and transacted at Rp8.45 trillion.

Binaartha Sekuritas analyst, M. Nafan Aji Gustama, said that market players appreciated the Jakarta Provincial Government's policy in opening malls in the capital.

"Apart from that, the market also appreciates the trade balance performance per May, which was beyond expectations which experienced a significant surplus of 2.09 billion US dollars," Nafan explained to VOI.

On the other hand, he continued, the market appreciated The Fed's statement of buying corporate bonds.

This afternoon, stocks that were among the top gainers, including PT Kresna Graha Investama Tbk (KREN) which rose 16.03 percent to IDR181, PT Putra Rajawali Kencana Tbk (PURA) which rose 14.29 percent to IDR96, and PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGAS) which strengthened 12.56 percent to Rp1,120.

Meanwhile, stocks that are in the top losers ranks, including PT Royalindo Investa Wijaya Tbk (INDO) which weakened 6.78 percent to Rp110, PT Panorama Sentrawisata Tbk (PANR) which fell 6.00 percent to Rp94, and PT Rukun Raharja Tbk (RAJA), which weakened 5.31 percent to IDR107.
