JAKARTA - The last group of Indonesian teams at the Tokyo Olympics on Wednesday night arrived in the country after completing all their matches in the biggest sporting event of the four years.
The last group led by Chef de Mission (CdM) Indonesia for the Tokyo Olympics Rosan P Roeslani consisted of Greysia Polii, Apriyani Rahayu, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Praveen Jordan from the badminton branch.

Their arrival was greeted directly by the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
"On behalf of the government, and all the people of Indonesia, I would like to welcome the Indonesian contingent. I express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for the struggles that have been carried out, both athletes, coaches, and support staff, who have made the Indonesian nation proud at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics," said Zainudin at a virtual press conference reported by Antara, Thursday, August 5 .
Zainudin asked the athletes and coaches to remain enthusiastic in dealing with the current COVID-19 pandemic situation. He also advised athletes to start looking at the 2024 Paris Olympics, whose qualifying round will start this year.
Meanwhile, CdM Rosan said that all athletes and their entourage were in good health. However, he also admitted that the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the pandemic era was not easy for athletes and officials.
"For two weeks there, athletes and officials can only be in the athlete's village, where they compete and where they practice. They are not allowed to come out of the bubble,” said Rosan.
“But the spirit of the athletes did not fade at all. Evidently, we were able to present one gold, one silver and three bronze medals," he added.
Upon arrival in Indonesia, the athletes will undergo an eight-day quarantine in accordance with government regulations regarding international travel health protocols in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Indonesian contingent brought home five medals from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics which took place on July 23 - August 8. The first three medals came from weightlifting. Young lifter Windy Cantika Aisah opened the Red and White medal by winning a bronze medal in the women's 49kg class. Eko Yuli Irawan followed with a silver medal in the men's 61kg class, followed by Rahmat Erwin Abdullah who won bronze from the men's 73kg class.
