Residents Crowded City Hall About Vaccines, Bobby Nasution: Don't Panic, Be Patient
MEDAN - Mayor of Medan, North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution asked people who have not received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to remain calm and not panic.
"Residents who should receive the second dose, please be patient and don't panic. Vaccine stock will be sent to Medan immediately," said Bobby Nasution in Medan, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, August 4.
Bobby Nasution explained that the delay in injecting the second dose of vaccine for the residents of Medan City was due to the low availability of vaccine stocks over the past few weeks.
He ensured that the delay in injecting the second dose of vaccine would still be safe and would not reduce the effectiveness of the first vaccine so as to continue to form optimal antibodies against COVID-19.
"I heard that there was information that the second dose was delayed and the vaccination would be repeated from the beginning. I said it didn't fail, that's okay," he said.
Bobby Nasution emphasized that the Medan City Government had submitted a request for a vaccine to the Ministry of Health.
Therefore, the mayor asked the public to understand and understand the delay in the arrival of the vaccine for the city of Medan.
"We continue to ask the Ministry of Health. The Minister of Health said that within the first or second week, vaccine deliveries will be smooth again," he said.
