Escape After Hitting In-laws, Perpetrators Arrested While Fishing

JAKARTA - The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim) of the Cengkareng Police, Iptu Bintang, confirmed that his party was still investigating the case of abuse by suspect A that caused the death of his father-in-law.

Iptu Bintang said that the day after victim Suyono died as a result of abuse, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police received information on the whereabouts of A.

"During his escape, A hid in the Kalideres area. A was caught at a fishing pond, Kampung Gagah. Until now, the investigation process continues," said Iptu Bintang when confirmed, Wednesday, August 4.

When questioned by the police, A admitted that he was annoyed with his father-in-law. During this time, A and his wife lived in a boarding house with his in-laws.

"At that time, his father-in-law said that you had been married for a long time, how come you don't have anything. Because the last time he was unemployed, he didn't have a job," he explained.

Not accepting Suyono's words, A then hit his father-in-law with a crowbar.

As a result of his actions, A was charged with Article 351 of the Criminal Code concerning torture to death with a penalty of seven years in prison. The perpetrator is currently being held in the Cengkareng Police cell.
