3,322 Workers In Bekasi Proposed To Get Salary Subsidy Of Rp. 500 Thousand For The First Group, Agree?

JAKARTA - A total of 3,322 workers in Bekasi Regency, West Java are proposed to receive the first group of Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) through the participation of the Employment Social Security Administering Body (BPJAMSOSTEK) Bekasi Cikarang Branch.

"For the first batch, participants in the Cikarang Branch proposed to the government are 3,322 workers. The next group is waiting for further information. The government will distribute this BSU," said Head of BPJAMSOSTEK Bekasi Cikarang Branch Andry Rubiantara in Cikarang, quoted from Antara, Wednesday 4 August.

He said the worker's wage subsidy is an added value as an active participant of BPJAMSOSTEK in addition to getting protection from work risks in the form of Work Accident Insurance (JKK), Old Age Security (JHT), Pension Security (JP), and Death Security (JKm).

Andry said the amount of assistance in question was Rp. 500 thousand per person in a month for two months which was paid at once with a distribution scheme through the Association of State-Owned Banks or Himbara as determined by the government.

He also stated that the criteria for recipients of this assistance had been regulated in the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 16 of 2021, including those in the PPKM Level 3 and 4 areas listed in the Minister of Home Affairs Instructions 22 and 23/2021.

Then priority is given to workers in the consumer goods industry, transportation, various industries, property and real estate, as well as trade and services, except for education and health services in accordance with the classification of sectoral data from BPJAMSOSTEK.

Furthermore, Indonesian citizens as evidenced by the Population Identification Number, wage workers, and active participants of BPJAMSOSTEK until June 30, 2021.

"Has a maximum wage of IDR 3.5 million a month. Workers in areas with a UMP or UMK greater than IDR 3.5 million, the wage requirement becomes a maximum of the UMP or UMK, in accordance with the latest wages reported and recorded by the employer to us," he said.

Andry ensures that the beneficiaries of this assistance have met the required data requirements such as NIK, full name, date of birth, employer's address, biological mother's name, cell phone number, and email address.

The Head of the Bekasi Regency Manpower Office, Suhup said that the Wage Subsidy Assistance for workers was a central government program through the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower to help the burden of workers affected by COVID-19.

Suhup said the cash assistance worth Rp. 1 million was distributed directly by the government to beneficiaries through four Himbara banks, namely BRI, BNI, BTN, and Bank Mandiri.

"Hopefully, through the distribution of this aid, it can help workers meet their needs during this pandemic as well as encourage economic growth," he said
