Nurses Fake Prescriptions And Take Medicines For Dead COVID-19 Patients For Sale
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya revealed 8 cases of hoarding and selling of COVID-19 therapeutic drugs above the highest retail price (HET). Where, one perpetrator is a nurse and is named a suspect.
"From here (8 cases) there are 24 suspects including one nurse," said the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Yusri Yunus, to reporters, Wednesday, August 4.
In the action, this nurse uses various modes. One example is working with pharmacists to create fake prescriptions.
"The method is that he can buy from pharmacies and pharmacies because the prices are standard by falsifying a doctor's letter and cooperating with pharmacies," said Yusri.
Apparently, the mode used is not only that. Because, it was also revealed that he took leftover drugs from patients who had died.
"The nurse's playing mode is taking the medicine for COVID-19 patients who died. So there are patients who die, the medicine is collected, later when it is collected, he plays the price," said Yusri.
In this case, the 24 suspects had the initials BC, MS, AH, RS, LO, RH, TF, NN, SJ, MS, MH, RB, AH, SO, YN, HH, AA, UF, LP, DW, MI, MR. , DS and MD. Then, a total of 6,964 pills and 27 vials of various brands of COVID-19 therapeutic drugs were confiscated to be used as merchandise.
Meanwhile, the suspects are charged with Article 196 and/or Article 198 of Law Number 36 of 2009 concerning Health and or Article 62 in conjunction with Article 10 of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. They face a maximum prison sentence of 10 years.
