West Bandung Regent Immediately Tried Regarding Allegations Of Corruption For Social Assistance For COVID-19
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigative team has completed an investigation into the alleged corruption case in the procurement of emergency goods for the COVID-19 pandemic, with the suspect inactive West Bandung Regent Aa Umbara Sutisna.
He and the case files that have been completed have been submitted to the KPK Public Prosecutor (JPU).
"Phase II was carried out or the submission of the suspect and evidence with the suspect AUM from the investigation team to the prosecutor's team because the filing of the case file had been declared complete," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector Ali Fikri to reporters, Wednesday, August 4.
Currently, the detention authority is held by the KPK prosecutor. He will be detained at the Red and White House KPK Detention Center for the next 20 days.
Meanwhile, the trial will be held at the Bandung Corruption Court. "The public prosecutor's team within 14 working days will immediately draw up an indictment and hand over the case file," said Ali.
In this case, the KPK has examined a number of witnesses who are suspected of having knowledge of the incident. Those who have been summoned include the Acting Regent of West Bandung Hengky Kurniawan and guitarist for The Changcuters, Arlanda Ghazali Langitan.
In this case, the KPK has named three suspects in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of emergency goods for the COVID-19 pandemic at the West Bandung Regency Social Service, West Java in 2020.
The three suspects, namely the 2018-2023 West Bandung Regent Aa Umbara Sutisna (AUS), Andri Wibawa from the private sector who is also the son of Aa Umbara, and the owner of PT Jagat Dir Gantara (JDG) and CV Sentral Vegetable Garden City Lembang (SSGCL) M Totoh Gunawan (MTG).
Aa Umbara is suspected of having received Rp1 billion in cash. Meanwhile, the child who also received the procurement project received a profit of Rp. 2.7 billion and M. Totoh Gunawan received Rp. 2 billion.
