PPKM Extension, Number Of Vehicles Decreases At Three Toll Gates
JAKARTA - Police officers continue to monitor the area of DKI Jakarta and its surroundings during the extension of Level 4 restrictions on community activities (PPKM).
It is known that until now the volume of vehicles at three toll gates to Jakarta, such as the Halim Toll Gate, Cililitan Toll Gate and Cawang Toll Gate has decreased. This was conveyed by the Director of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol. Sambodo Purnomo Yogo at the Ditlantas Building of the Polda Metro Jaya, Tuesday, July 3.
"We can see that compared to PPKM Micro, PPKM Emergency, and PPKM Level 4 in the first week there is still a significant decline," explained Sambodo.
The decrease in the number of vehicle volumes, explained Sambodo, did not last long because the implementation of PPKM Level 4 in the second week saw an increase in vehicle mobility.
Meanwhile, the volume of vehicles in the second week of PPKM Level 4 was the same as before the start of PPKM.
"Entering PPKM level 4 in the second week yesterday, the number of vehicles began to rise and is almost close to the record numbers before the PPKM period. But what needs to be anticipated is that there has indeed been an increase over the last three days, because this graph is related to the number of Covid-19 cases," said Sambodo.
The decrease in the volume of vehicles during PPKM can be a benchmark in knowing the effectiveness of the mobility restrictions that have been implemented so far. Then, Sambodo continued, he hoped that people would continue to obey and reduce mobility so that it would have an impact on reducing Covid-19 cases, especially in the DKI Jakarta area.
"This figure clearly proves that when people's mobility increases, a week later the number of COVID-19 increases. And vice versa, if mobility decreases, this number also decreases," said Sambodo emphasizing the importance of PPKM.
