KPK Chairman Firli Takes Oath Of 78 Investigators And 112 Investigators, No Novels Baswedan Et Al
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed and took the oath of 78 investigators and 112 investigators in the Hall of the Juang Merah Putih Building.
This inauguration was carried out by KPK Chair Firli Bahuri and KPK Secretary General Cahya H. Harefa as the Personnel Guidance Officer (PPK) and Karyoto Deputy for Enforcement and Execution as witnesses.
This activity is a consequence of the transition to the status of a KPK employee who has now become a State Civil Apparatus (ASN). In his remarks, Firli asked that the current status of the anti-corruption commission should not be an obstacle to eradicating corruption.
"The transition of the status of KPK employees to ASN should not be an obstacle to eradicating corruption. The people expect all of you to be able to carry out the main tasks of the KPK without being affected by any powers, whether legislative, executive, or judicial," he said as quoted in a written statement, Tuesday, August 3.
In this inauguration and oath of office, there were 50 people who attended directly with strict health protocols to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. While another 140 people followed online.
Firli hopes that the investigators and investigators he has appointed can work optimally even though the number of human resources at the KPK is limited. In addition, he reminded the KPK has a mandate to eradicate corruption.
"Leaders may change but what is certain is that the task of eradicating corruption will never change. The law may change but the main task of the KPK must never be degraded," said the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.
This oath-taking drew a response from the non-active investigator Novel Baswedan. According to him, this will cause serious problems in the future.
In addition, Novel also questioned the intention behind the oath-taking procession. Previously, the KPK had appointed 1,271 employees who passed the TWK assessment as a condition for the transfer of employment status on June 1. However, there were 75 employees who were not appointed after being declared ineligible.
Apart from not being appointed as ASN, these 75 employees must also be deactivated. Those who did not qualify included KPK Investigator Novel Baswedan, Chairman of the Employee Forum who is also KPK Investigator Yudi Purnomo, KPK Investigator Ambarita Damanik, and KPK Anti-Corruption Campaign Director Giri Suprapdiono.
Of the 75 employees, the KPK then plans to lay off 51 employees. Meanwhile, 24 employees can still be saved on condition that they must first carry out the State Defense and National Insight Education and Training.
