Police Arrest Perpetrators Spreading Nails And Razor Wafers In Jember, Refuses Motives

JEMBER - Police arrested the alleged perpetrator who spread wafers containing pieces of sharp objects such as nails to razors. The perpetrator with the initials AG was arrested at his home, in the Patrang sub-district, Jember, East Java.

"It is true that we have secured the suspect suspected of being the perpetrator who distributed snacks containing sharp objects," said Jember Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, Komang Arya Wiguna, to reporters, Tuesday, August 3.

Komang said that his party is still investigating the motive for giving the children wafers filled with razor blades. But from the temporary confession of the perpetrator, namely to refuse reinforcements.

"At a glance, the person concerned deliberately made the snack to refuse reinforcements. Because he felt a bit paranoid and thought he was often sent chocolate food," he said.

In its action, AG deliberately bought chocolate wafers. Then opened and inserted a sharp object.

After that the wafers are put back in and glued back together using matches. The food is then spread on the street.

"The provisional confession has been 10 times, acting alone," he said.

Previously, residents of Jalan Cempedak, Jember Lor Village, Patrang District, were shocked with wafer snacks containing pieces of sharp objects such as nails to razors.

The wafer was distributed by an unknown person to the children who were playing.

Initially, two children who were playing in their yard, Saturday, July 31, were approached by unknown people who gave them two packs of wafers. After eating a little, the child felt a sharp object and vomited.

Both then reported to their parents. After all the packages were opened, they found razors and nails.
