JAKARTA - The Nemangkawi Task Force has arrested a fugitive named Kopengga Enumbi who is suspected of supplying firearms (senpi) to the armed criminal group (KKB). He was arrested in Puncak Smile Village, Puncak Jaya Regency, Papua.
"Arrested the DPO for the theft with violence of eight index weapons from the Kulirik Pospol in Puncak Jaya Regency on behalf of Kopengga Enumbi," said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ahmad Mustofa Kamal in his statement, Tuesday, August 3.
The theft of weapons by Kopengga Enumbi has been carried out twice. The action took place on January 4, 2014 and December 5, 2018.
Catching Kopengga Enumbi is not an easy matter. Besides being known to be slippery because he has been a fugitive for years, he also has members who are ready to defend him.
In fact, the arrest was marked by armed contact between the Nemangkawi Task Force and the Kopengga Enumbi group.
"The Gakkum Nemangkawi Research Task Force led by Ipda Dedi Sudomo exchanged fire with the Kopengga Enumbi group and was backed up by Yon Raider 613/RJA, until Kopengga Enumbi was successfully paralyzed," said Kamal.
On the other hand, Kopengga Enumbi is known as the younger brother of Lerimayu Enumbi who is a member of the KKB. He also plays a role in meeting the logistics needs of the Lekagak Telenggen group.
"The task force secured 11 rounds of SS1 ammunition with a caliber of 5.56 mm, a badik knife, a highlighter green helmet, a Samsung cellphone, cigarettes, areca nut and a noken bag," said Kamal.
