Surakarta Police Closes 6 Roads To Prevent Citizens' Mobility

SOLO - The Traffic Unit of the Surakarta City Police, Central Java, has begun to close six roads related to the extension of the implementation of the level 4 community activity restriction (PPKM) to prevent the mobility of residents.

Head of the Satlantas Polresta Surakarta Kompol Adhytiawarman Gautama Putra, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 3, said officers will continue to close six roads with different hours for the extension of PPKM level 4 in Solo.

At PPKM level 4, he said, previously there were eight roads that were closed, but at PPKM level 4 this time only six roads were continued to be closed.

Six roads were closed starting Tuesday, namely Jalan Slamet Riyadi, Jalan Yos Sudarso, Jalan Dr. Radjiman, Urip Sumoharjo Street, Sutan Syahrir Street, and Piere Tendean Street.

According to Adhytiawarman, specifically for Jalan Slamet Riyadi, the closure will start at 20.30 WIB until 05.00 WIB. Meanwhile, five other roads will be closed from 17.00 WIB to 05.00 WIB.

This, said Adhytiawarman, is to reduce people's mobility on the road so that people are expected to stay at home.

Motor vehicles that are allowed to pass during the closure, he said, are only priority vehicles such as fire engines, ambulances, funeral convoys, TNI-Polri vehicles, COVID-19 Task Force vehicles, COVID-19 health workers vehicles, Level 4 PPKM Task Force, and vehicle convoys. other important.

Previously, the Surakarta Police Traffic Unit closed eight roads, namely Slamet Riyadi Street, Urip Sumoharjo Street, Sutan Syahrir Street, Yos Sudarso Street, Dr. Radjiman, Piere Tendean Street, Gatot Subroto Street, and Adisucipto Street.

However, Jalan Gatot Subroto and Jalan Adi Sucipto Solo at the extension of PPKM level 4 starting Tuesday are not included in the extension closure so that these two roads are opened 24 hours during the extension of PPKM level 4 in Solo from August 3--9 2021.

According to him, blocking activities in all entrances to Solo City will still be carried out. There is relaxation of residents during the day, but at night residents have to stay at home.

"We do not know for sure how long the process of opening and closing the road will take place. We will see the development situation of COVID-19 cases in Solo," he said.
