2 Crew Members Of The KM Bintang Sonar Fishing Boat That Sank Found Safe, 4 Others Are Still Missing

BANYUWANGI - Two crew members of the fishing boat, KM Bintang Sonar, sank in Banyuwangi, East Java. found in safe condition.

Two crew members named Aris and Andik were found by fishermen on Coko Grajagan beach, Purwoharjo District at around 07.30 WIB.

"Found by coastal fisherman Coko Grajagan, two crew members on behalf of Aris and Andik are safe," he said when contacted, Tuesday, August 3.

That way, six of the 10 crew members of KM Bintang Sonar have been found safe. While the other four are still in search of the SAR team.

The day the search continued around the sinking of the ship.

As previously reported, KM Bintang Sonar was reported to have sunk in the waters of Plengkung, Banyuwangi, Monday, August 2. When it sank, the ship was carrying 10 crew members (ABK).

The ship belongs to a resident of Kedungrejo, Muncar, named Mashudi. According to the surviving crew members, the ship plans to return to Muncar Harbor at 04.10 WIB.

However, around Batu Dua, Tanjung Bantengan, the ship was hit by waves, rain and strong winds.

Water also entered the ship, so that KM Bintang Sonar sank. "The crew tried their best to swim to the shore with minimal equipment," he said.
