Beware, Lewd Hotels Under The Guise Of Massage Services Will Be Strictly Strictly Strictly Strictly Strict
JAKARTA - Acting Mayor of South Jakarta, Isnawa Adji will take firm action against hotels in South Jakarta that are proven to have practiced prostitution under the guise of massage services. Especially during the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).
Isnawa said, not only violating Article 298 of the Criminal Code and Article 506 of the Criminal Code, these activities can trigger clusters of the spread of COVID-19.
"Practices that violate public order and violate PPKM level 4 are not tolerated. Violation of health protocols will have an impact on the spread of COVID-19 and create new clusters," said Isnawa Adji through a VOI source, Tuesday, August 3.
In terms of prosecution, Isnawa explained, the South Jakarta Satpol PP ranks in synergy with the South Jakarta Metro Police to thoroughly investigate the case of the alleged prostitution practice.
Isnawa reiterated that all violations will be subject to strict sanctions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
"We are grateful to the Chief of Police and Kasatpol PP for handling this matter, we will impose sanctions for violations of course," he said.
Previously, Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Culture Office, Gumelar Ekalaya, said that his party would coordinate with the Police to conduct an in-depth examination of information regarding the practice of prostitution under the guise of massage services.
Furthermore, if the hotel management is proven to be directly involved in the practice of prostitution, it will revoke the hotel business license in accordance with DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 18 of 2018 concerning the Implementation of Tourism Businesses.
"We study first, we will give sanctions if it is proven (involved in the practice of prostitution)," said Gumelar.
"It can be up to the revocation of the permit if it is proven that Management's involvement in prostitution is proven. We will coordinate with the Police the extent of the violation," he said.
The DKI Jakarta Tourism and Culture Office had previously sent a warning letter to a hotel in the Kebayoran Lama area, South Jakarta.
The written warning was sent regarding the violation of the Emergency Community Activity Restriction (PPKM) which was revealed in a raid held by the South Jakarta Metro Police on Monday, July 5, 2021.
This was conveyed by Gumelar in accordance with DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 3 of 2021 concerning Implementing Regulations of Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2020 concerning Covid-19 Response.
Article 19 states that hotel managers will be given gradual sanctions, starting from a written warning; temporary suspension of activities; administrative fines; temporary suspension of permits; and/or license revocation.
So, if the violation is repeated, it will also impose an administrative fine of Rp. 50 million to the violators who are still determined to open a plus-plus massage service.
