Win Gold In Olympics, DPR Supports Old Age Guarantee For Athletes With Achievements

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives Hetifah Sjaifudian, expressed his pride in the women's doubles pair of national badminton, Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu who won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. In addition to bringing home gold, according to Hetifah, both of them performed extraordinary in the final match against China.

"I've been a fan of Greysia/Apriyani since the last Sea Games. It turns out that now they are making Indonesia proud again at a bigger level," said Hetifah, Tuesday, August 3. The Golkar politician also praised the hard work of various parties in scoring national badminton achievements. He said, from the Susi Susanti era, Indonesia has been a regular in winning various badminton championships. Of course, outstanding athletes are not produced in a flash, but through years of struggle with the support of various parties.

"I give my thumbs up for the synergy of PB Badminton, KONI, Kemenpora, as well as various private CSR programs that support the achievements of our athletes," added the East Kalimantan legislator.

Hetifah also guarantees awards for outstanding athletes in the new Revised National Sports System Law (RUU SKN) number 3 of 2005. Therefore, he asked the government to provide old age guarantees for athletes who make Indonesia proud.

“One of the points that is highly emphasized in the SKN Bill is the award and old-age social security for outstanding athletes. Athletes such as Greysia/Apriyani have made Indonesia proud on the world stage. It is appropriate for the state to guarantee the welfare of their old age," concluded Hetifah.
