Pramono Edhie Wibowo Dies, SBY: Hard Years
JAKARTA - The 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said he was sorry for the passing of former Army Chief of Staff Pramono Edhie Wibowo, who was the younger brother of his late wife, Ani Yudhoyono.
Pramono's death, he said, added to the sorrow for him and his family. SBY said, 2019 and 2020 were tough years for him.
"Those were tough years. After my beloved wife left last year, after that my own mother, and now Ms. Ani's younger sibling," said SBY through a video uploaded to his Twitter account @SBYudhoyono, Sunday, June 14.

He said his brother-in-law was a soldier with the principle of being upright for his nation and country.
"He is a true soldier, a professional soldier, perpendicular to his nation and country," he said.
SBY said that Edhie is a figure with experience in the military world, especially as the Kopassus Corps. "Previously, he led the Siliwangi Military Command, led Kostrad and finally became the Army Chief of Staff," explained SBY.
Jokowi expressed his sorrowThrough a video broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, President Joko Widodo expressed his condolences for the President's brother-in-law and expressed his sorrow for the departure of the former Army Chief of Staff.
"On behalf of the government and society, I would like to express my deep condolences for the passing to the presence of Allah, Mr. General Pramono Edhie Wibowo at the age of 65," said Jokowi in the video.
"May his spirit be accepted by Allah, given the best place and those who are left will be given patience," he added.
Upon Pramono's departure, the Head of the Armed Forces Information Service, Brigadier General TNI Nefra Firdaus, said that all ranks of the TNI AD would fly the flag at half mast for seven days.
"As a form of deep respect and sorrow for the passing of the late TNI General Purn Pramono Edhie Wibowo, all units of the Indonesian Army Armed Forces starting on Sunday, June 14 for seven days raised the flag at half-mast," Nefra said in a written statement.
Previously, Pramono Edhie Wibowo, former Army Chief of Staff with a 2011-2013 term, died.
General Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, said that the Head of the BPOKK of the Democratic Party and Ani Yudhoyono's younger brother died of illness.
"We are grieving again. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un, our uncle, General Pramono Edhie Wibowo, died on Saturday at around 19.30 WIB due to illness," AHY said in a statement received by VOI, Saturday, 13 June.
Pramono is known to have breathed his last at Cimacan Hospital, Cianjur, West Java. AHY said that tonight the body is planned to be buried at the funeral home, Complex Puri Cikeas Indah, Bogor.
During his lifetime, Pramono, who was born in Magelang, May 5, 1955, had served as Pangkostrad, Panglima Kodam III / Siliwangi, and served as Commander General of Kopassus before finally serving as Army Chief of Staff (KSAD).
He also received various honorary state honors such as Bintang Mahaputra Utama, Bintang Dharma, Bintang Kartika Eka Paksi Utama, and Bintang Jalasena Utama.
Furthermore, Pramono also received Bintang Swa Bhuwana Paksa Utama, Bintang Bhayangkara Utama, Bintang Yudha Dharma Pratama, Bintang Kartika Eka Paksi Pratama, Bintang Yudha Dharma Nararya, and Bintang Kartika Eka Paksi Nararya.
